Varsity
The second game of the day comes against #8 FW Carroll. This was a game we were looking forward to as it would be the first on the new turf field.
The surface made a difference from the start as we were really able to move the ball quickly and cleanly along the ground. After controlling the first 15 minutes of the game, we slowed down a bit and allowed the opponent to get the scoring started on a play where we nearly stopped in anticipation of a call being made. So going into half down 1-0 was not where we wanted to be.
The girls really stepped up after realizing the opportunity we had on our hands and took it to the visitors over the next 40 minutes. Just seven minutes in, Melissa Snider got us on the board putting the ball away to the far post after receiving a Jen Dimos service. Five minutes later, Kate Clark found herself putting home a ball from the spot for the second time in 2 games. After an excellent redirecting header from Amanda Repass, defender Courtney Burks found the ball at her feet and was able to find the net from 6 yards out. Amanda Repass then got a goal of her own after receiving a ball from Sarah Hirschman to give us the 4-1 victory.
Goals: Melissa Snider, Kate Clark, Courtney Burks, Amanda Repass
Assists: Jen Dimos, Amanda Repass, Sarah Hirschman
Saves: Annie Clark (3)

The Braves finished the weekend strong with a 2-1 victory over Fort Wayne Carroll. The game was played on the new turf field which played to the advantage of the JV Lady Braves. We were able to keep great posession and move the ball quickly. With only four minutes to play Alexa Isbell was able to get down the right side of the field and send a cross into the box where Maren Grahm ran onto the ball. Maren had to fight a few Carroll defenders off to send this one into the back of the net which she did! The girls know that it doesn't matter what the goal looks like, only that it goes into the back of the net! Braves
were up one to zero at half with a similar scenario as the morning
game.
They were not satisfied with one goal and were determined to finish again this game. With 17 minutes to play in the second half Katilyn Brickey battled through two Carroll players to send a ball across the face of the goal. Kate Hahn was able to get on the end of it, sending the ball into the back of the net with her left knee. Beautiful finish from a hard fought cross. The Braves got an unlucky corner kick called against them with 13 minutes to play where Carrol was able to connect on a corner kick making the score 2-1. The Braves fought back and held onto a 2-1 victory. Kate Hahn and Madelyn Geske played very well in goal for us. Kate was uncontested in the first half and Madelyn came up with 4 big saves for her team. Great work Ladies!
