2011 JV vs. N. Central

The JV Brebeuf Lady Braves continued their winning streak with a 5 to 0 victory over North Central.  This carries on as our fourth shut out for the season! A team wide defensive goal of a perfect shut out season has been made.

We started off the night, four minutes into the half, with a ball played across the middle from Taylor Fitts and a long range shot from the left side of the field by Anne Marie Meyers for our first goal.  Our second goal came from Madelyn Geske who took a ball down the left side of the field and cracked a rifling shot on frame that the North Central defenders couldn't handle.  We met at half time with a dangerous lead of only 2-0.

After talking about increasing our speed of play and needing to test the keeper more the second half began.  Betsy Bennet was played an excellent ball up the middle from center back Ellie Bonanno with 28 minutes to play that sent her on a break away ending in our third goal.  I asked our forwards to score in the first ten minutes of the half to set the momentum and they did just that.  Kate Hahn had an excellent goal with 19 minutes to play sent in by Taylor Fitts.  The last goal of the game came from Zoe Stein playing an excellent "thread the needle" through ball to Olivia Malatestinic who went on a break away and was able to finish giving the Lady Braves the 5-0 victory.

Once we picked our pace up and added some energy to the game we were able to fall in stride with our regular soccer play.  Great game and great overall attitude.
