After only having fifteen minutes to warm-up, I knew it would be very important for the girls to be strong enough mentally to get through the first twenty minutes of the game. After giving up three goals in our last game, defense was top priority going into this weekend. The back four weres very organized and did a very good job of preventing Brownsburg from having any good looks. Just thirteen minutes into the game, Elise DeTrude put a good ball into the box off a set piece that found the head of Rachel Dill, who put in her first goal of the year. We possessed the ball very well the rest of the first half, but could not find the net again. With our defense playing very well, one goal was enough for us to give us the victory over a top twenty team. Meghan White and Kayla Delaney led the team in shots with three each. Halle Friehofer recorded her 2nd shutout of the year.
For our first game on Saturday, we found ourselves going up against an unfamiliar team out of Louisville, Kentucky. Not knowing much about them, we just needed to come out an play our game. From the start, we did a very good job of keeping the ball, but never became very dangerous. This game was played mostly in the middle of the field with neither team getting too many good looks. Our success had to do with how well our defense played again. Courtney Burks and Kate Clark kept the back line together all game long.
Very early in the second half, we got into the attacking third and were given a penalty. Elise Detrude converted from the mark and put us up 1-0. Only a few minutes later, we gave Assumption the opportunity to tie the game up as they earned a penalty kick. This time it was saved as Halle Friehofer came up with a big time save to keep the shutout and give us another 1-0 victory.

The third and final game of the weekend as going to be a good one as we knew New Palestine was a quality team who was unbeaten and scoring alot of goals. We came out in the first half and really played well. We possessed the ball a majority of the half which really limited the opportunities that New Palestine had. There were times where we showed signs of a very good team with the passing and combinations through the middle and attacking end of the field. One very could opportunity came off a cross from Maddie Malatestinic to Amanda Repass made a good run onto and just put it wide.
The second half was much tougher as New Palestine really came out wanting to win the game. Just a few minutes into the half, they found the 1st goal of a well executed corner kick. We did not give up as we moved numbers forward. With just under three minutes left Elly Hahn stayed strong on the ball and found Claire Kelley who turned and put her shot top corner to equalize at 1-1. This was a good result for us as going unbeaten in 3 games in 2 days is a big accomplishment.
