LN vs. Brebeuf

Varsity

After a positive second half in our last game, we wanted to make sure we started this game with that same effort. We did just that and got an early goal just five minutes into the match. Maddie Malatestinic dribbled the ball about 30 yards beating two LN defenders before finding the back of the net. Although we created multiple opportunities, the scored stayed 1-0 until halftime.

Just six minutes into the second half, Kayla Delaney attacked down the flank and served in a good ball which found Maddie Mal who put it away for a 2-0 lead. We continued to control play which let to goal number three by Claire Kelley. Anna Malatestinic rounded out the scoring by finishing off a ball played by Sam Mullennax which gave us the 4-0 win. Halle Freihofer made 6 saves on the night while earning the shutout. The Braves had a total of 24 shots which is a good sign that our attack is starting to click.

Junior Varsity

Our second away game of the week for the Lady Braves and this time the opponent was Lawrence North. We came out ready to go and had a slight change in formation from our typical 4-3-3. We started out in a 3-4-3 and attacked just as often as we have throughout the year.

Tayler Fitts showed up with two goals in the first 15 minutes of the game. Continuing to presssure LN, another goal came from a cross into the box. Both Mel Snider and Betsy Bennett got to it at the same time and Snider finished it off continuing her impressive run of goals. The score was 3-0 at halftime and not much of a challenge offensively from Lawrence North.

Second half we changed to one forward holding the line and goals came
from the outside mids. Jen Dimos put a ball away midway through the half and Olivia Robinson finished the scoring off late in the half to chalk up her first career

Defensively we were sound all game. Colleen Moorman, Kristin Gorman, Olivia Robinson and Amanda Pont are credited with the shutout in our 5-0 win.
