Junior Varsity
A very hard fought game by the JV Lady Braves that fell short to Notre Dame on a one to zero final score.
The Braves started out the game with great intensity and ball control. We were able to posess the ball for the majority of the first half but only able to come up with 5 shots on goal. Krissy Tinkle started as our first half keeper and came up with 3 huge game changing saves. Her first save came on a Notre Dame break away where Krissy was able to come out and win a one v one battle with the oncoming forward. The second save was out of the air from a hard shot. Her third save was another break away by Notre Dame where the forward tried to dribble around Krissy. She was able to save the ball with her feet and pop it up to her own hands for the save! Great work and leadership demonstrated by Krissy.
After discussing better offensvie tactics such as first touch and quicker play at half, the girls moved in to the second half with positive emotion. Despite our consistant efforts, Notre Dame was able to get a long outside shot off which soared just over Maren Grahm's reach in goal. We were able to test their defense two times later in the half with great opportunities, but the Brave's just weren't having luck finishing the ball. Maren did an excellent job in goal with 5 saves.
Great game for the Lady Braves with an unlucky ending score.
