With bad weather on the way, the JV’s 2-0 victory was called early and Varsity had a short period of time to get ready for their game. It appears we were not ready as Pike put one in on us 40 seconds into the game. When you start the game on your heals and are not ready for the opposition, they will punish you and Pike did just that. For the second time in 2 games, we were down a goal less than a minute into the game. Once we controlled the ball and moved it around, we were able to find our attackers and be a threat. Shelby Kroeger saw a lot of the ball and was cutting through Pike’s defense, but nothing came out of it until 14 minutes in when she put a cross to Elise DeTrude, who tied the game at 1-1. Once we equalized, our confidence was back and maintained a bit more control of the game. The girls came out hard in the 2nd half trying to get an early goal, but 8 minutes was not enough time as the game was cancelled due to weather.
